Lily had her first volleyball game of the season with her new team. I am so glad that I bumped her up an age group. The difference is amazing.  We feel like we are watching a volleyball game instead of a jungleball game.

We spent a few days in San Diego, CA for Lily’s spring break this year. It wasn’t very warm but it also wasn’t very cold. Here are some silly pictures that I took this week. We found this huge burger at Slater’s 50/50. And this snake warning sign in Point Loma at Cabrillo National Monument. […]

Lily’s volleyball team The Fireballs had their last game of the season today.  A new season starts sometime toward the end of March and this time when I signed her up I bumped her up an age group.

Lily plays volleyball every Monday and Saturday. And of course she had a game today. I think they are undefeated this season. Their team name is Fireballs. At the first practice the coach asked the girls to come up with a team name and Lily blurted out FIREBALLS! So Fireballs it is. Lily is in […]

Do you remember playing with Bloonies when you were a kid? Lily found a package of them in my rainy day stash. Hours of entertainment.

When we were in New Orleans earlier this week we bought this t-shirt for Lily. She will put ketchup on anything.

Usually Lily takes the bus home from school but today I picked her up a little bit early for a orthodontist appointment.  I was standing by her locker with when the bell rang. She told me that it is embarrassing to be seen with a parent by your locker. She seriously asked me to go […]

This morning Lily and I met a few friends at Six Flag Fiesta Texas here in San Antonio. We haven’t been there in a few years so Lily was super excited. We rode a few roller coasters but it was 100°+ day so we headed over to White Water Bay which is the water park […]

Guess who took her first flight as an Unacccompanied Minor today? Lily did!! Lily flew by herself from St Louis, MO to Detroit, MI. Once she landed in Detroit, MI my sister Vanessa was there to pick her up. This is the first picture that Vanessa sent me once they got back to her house. […]

Today I made fajitas for dinner from a delicious recipe that my sister Vanessa taught me. It was a total hit. JP, Lily, Lynette and I loved it. Since we were having fajitas I served tortilla chips and salsa on the side. Lily doesn’t usually eat the salsa but she loves the chips. I am […]

A couple of weeks ago Lily brought home a permission slip that said “Your child has been selected to participate in the NEISD (North East Independent School District) Elementary Track & Field Day”. The rest of the page talked about where to be, what to wear, what time to be there, etc. This is her […]

Every Thursday for the last two years Lily has met with a reading specialist that is a private tutor. She meets with her for one hour just a few miles from our house. It is only a few miles from our house but it takes us about 15 minutes to get there. At first I […]

This week is Lily’s Spring Break. We originally had plans to head to Cannon Beach, OR to hang out with JP’s parents for a few days but those plans fell through due to the price of tickets. SWA wanted about $900 per person… ummm, no thanks. Then JP found out a few days later that […]

Today Lily and I were at the airport waiting for JP when I realized that the t-shirt she was wearing used to be a night-shirt. When she first got it as a gift in May of 2008 it was really big on her. I went back into my archives and found pictures of her wearing […]

When I was a kid, we loved to make friendship bracelets out of embroidery floss. We would weave different designs and give them to each other. It was so much fun. We even took it a step further and started weaving them into pieces in the back of our hair. Oh the memories. A couple […]

When I checked the mail yesterday I pulled a package out that was addressed to Lily from JP’s parents Bob and Marlene. Assuming it was for Valentine’s Day I told her that she couldn’t open it until Valentine’s Day. Today I told her that if she calls Marlene and asks for permission to open it […]

It is no secret that Lily is Barbie crazy. It is always Barbie this and Barbie that. Sometimes she comes downstairs and asks to borrow the big camera for a Barbie photo shoot. Check out these pictures from today. Barbie is a beautician. I love how the other Barbie is surfing the web while getting […]

Late last year Lily started going to Stone Oak Orthodontics. I did a post back in April about her getting the appliance put in her mouth. You can click here to see the pictures from back then. Today she went back again and had her braces put on. She is in so much pain… and […]

It is a cold cold cold day in San Antonio. I am not okay with this. I told Lily to go get dressed so that we could go run some errands and this is what he put on. Please note what is on her feet… the only pair of warm boots that I own. UGG!
