This morning I was laying in bed and I could hear birds chirping like crazy outside the window. It made me start thinking about the warm warm San Antonio that I love. Sure I will totally take our 60-80° winter days that we currently have, but I really want some super hot 90° days. I [...]

For the last few days I have been hoping to hear a knock on the door from the UPS driver. Last weekend I ordered one of my Halloween costumes online and I have been patiently waiting for it to get here. I used 2 day delivery but since I ordered it on Saturday I think [...]

The whole reason we were all together these past few days is because of Pauly and Katie. For those of you that don’t know Pauly is my youngest brother, the youngest of 10 siblings. It is kinda weird to think that I won’t ever be going to any more of my siblings weddings, because everyone [...]

I totally took this picture from Beth’s blog today! How can you not love it! The message that daisies bring are of innocence, purity, and gentleness on behalf of both the giver and the receiver. The daisy’s message is, “You have as many virtues as this plant has petals,” or, “I will consider your request.” [...]

This morning our big plan was to drive over to Whidbey Island and take the ferry over to Port Townsend which is on the Olympic Peninsula. Our first stop was in Anacortes, WA to see a little place called Mt Erie. Oh and evidently you have to beware of owls and dusk and dawn. The [...]

We woke up this morning at JP’s parents house on Camano Island. The first thing Lily said to me after I got up was “Mom, did you look outside?”. It was late and dark when we got there last night so she had no idea that we were right on a cliff  looking over the water. Camano Island [...]

Today was a really good day! I picked Lily up from camp and we headed home to hang out in the pool. I am not sure if I have ever told you guys this but we have lots of flowers in our backyard. Not flowers that I planted but thing that were there when we [...]

Remember those plants I told you we planted a few weeks ago? They are growing like crazy! I took some pictures today when I was watering them. I don’t think I told you before but in a big planter in the yard we are attempting to grow tomatoes, strawberries and cilantro. They were very small when we started. Here is [...]

We have gotten some quotes from landscapers to do our backyard because it is so big and crazy. There are leaves and pollen all over the place. There are also way overgrown trees and plants that need to be trimmed back. Well two quotes from landscapers later we have decided that we should keep the $1,500 and do it ourselves. [...]

I have told you guys a bunch of times that in May it will be one year since I quit smoking. There are so many great things about quitting. I could make a huge list of the pros but you never hear anyone talk about the cons. When I smoked I would always go out [...]

Today is day 30 of my new smoke free lifestyle! JP sent flowers and balloons to my work to remind me of how proud he is! As usual he knows exactly what kind of flowers to send! Thanks JP!!

When we pulled up to the house today I noticed these flowers growing on a tree in the front yard. I have no idea what they are but they are beautiful! They are growing upside down on the tree like that. While me and Amanda were admiring the flowers Lily found a snail. And another And [...]

I told Stephanie that someone told me that the golden fruit growing on the trees in the backyard was edible. She immediately grabbed one and took a bite. Cathy told us what it is called and we can’t remember what she said but we think it was “Gyabba”?. She said that was the spanish word for [...]

When we were in the produce isle at the grocery today I saw fresh corn on a cob. Where the heck is corn growing right now? JP said  maybe in Chile. Lily was very excited, she loves corn on the cob! A couple days before Easter I was in the grocery store with Lily. When we walked [...]

It’s been pretty warm around here for a few weeks but this past week has been amazing! If only it could stay like this all summer instead of feeling like the surface of the sun it would be great! For the last couple weeks I have been noticing wild flowers as I drive down the road and trees in [...]

Today we headed back to San Antonio.  About an hour after we left South Padre we had to go through a checkpoint. J9 had never seen one of these before. Then we stopped to get some pictures in a field of blue bonnets. The pictures of Lily and me didn’t go very well. And J9 [...]

Here are the beautiful flowers that JP bought me yesterday. I love knowing that he thinks “good” thoughts about me when I send him to the grocery store alone!
