This morning we woke up bright and early and drove all the way from Little Rock, AR to San Antonio, TX. We stopped at the Arkansas/Texas border to get this picture.
About two years ago we stopped at the same spot. Look how much bigger Lily is.
About 30 miles north of Austin there is a toll road named TX-130 that has the fastest speed limit in the nation.
This was my first time driving on the toll road that they say runs from Austin to San Antonio. It is a big lie. It is actually like 30 miles north of Austin and runs southeast then drops you off on Interstate 10 like 20 miles east of Loop 1604. Unless you live in far east San Antonio I don’t think this road is worth taking. Oh and I am not even sure how much we spent on the tolls because it is pay-by-mail. They take a picture of your license plate a few times along the way and bill you later. I am really curious what is going to happen because I never put the front license plate on my car. Hmmm.
Around 3:30 PM we were home at last! My mileage was 37,254 at the beginning of our trip.
And 39,368 at the end. A grand total of 2,114 miles.
Lily and I had a really good time on this trip but I am not sure that it is something I would want to do again. I might do it again if there was another driver but definitely wouldn’t do it if I had to drive all of those miles by myself again.
