HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! I am pretty sure that this is my favorite day of the year. Unfortunately JP is still out of town so I had some things that I had to set up on my own. As soon as I rolled out of bed this morning I was so excited. I had to go to the grocery store and as I was getting dressed I figured it was the perfect time to put on a costume. Super Woman!
A few years ago I told you the story about why we pass out full size candy bars… yes, we are that house.
It has been raining in San Antonio all week. It was raining up until about 10:00 AM. Then all of the sudden it stopped, the clouds disappeared and the sun was shining again. It is not going to be a wet Halloween night here.
I had to go outside and set up the strobe lights and fog machine.
I couldn’t get the fog machine to work but I had the strobe lights placed to blink on the huge spiders and spider webs.
As soon as Lily got home from school she was so excited to get her costume and makeup on. Every year Lily’s dad Bryan comes over and walks her around the neighborhood while I pass out candy. She had a few hours until 5:00 but begged me to let her play with my makeup.
A couple of hours later it was time to put on her costume… I caught her taking a selfie.
Then I sat her down and put her makeup and wig on. Check out the Harlequin Jester!
The Harlequin, a mermaid and a skeleton.
Lily walks around the neighborhood every year with her best friend Cameron. Cameron is dressed as a wolf. She was so mad at me when I called her a Yeti.
And this year Lily’s new friend Cassidy walked around with them. Cassidy is wearing a Laura Ingles costume that her mother wore when she was a kid.
These girls are so fun.
I snapped this picture of my very first trick-or-treaters.
This is the best dressed parent that I saw. If you haven’t watched the TV show Breaking Bad then you should.
I found out when Bryan got back from taking the girls around the neighborhood that it was just him that walked them around the neighborhood… usually the other parents join him. Check out Lily’s ridiculous amount of candy.
I probably shouldn’t admit this but after Bryan and all of Lily’s friends left I told her it was time to get in the shower. I walked into the other room to put some stuff away and when I came back Lily was sitting on the floor eating a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. A couple of minutes later I told her again to go take a shower. She told me that her stomach hurt. I saw a couple of wrappers in front of her and told her it was probably because she ate like 5 Reeses. She then looked at me and said “I just counted… I ate 9 Reeses… and maybe one of the brown wrappers”. I was speechless… I had a serious Mother of the Year moment. Geesh.
