For the last few months Lily has been begging for us to take her tubing. JP had a flight today and the rest of us decided that today was the day that we were going to tackle San Marcos River via tubes. It is about an hour drive out to Martindale, TX to Don’s Fish Camp where they call is toobing. While we have tubed on other rivers this was me and Lily’s second time going to Don’s. The first time we went can be found if you click here.
When you first get to Don’s Fish Camp you have to pay $5 per person and you get a pink wristband which shows that you paid for the bus transportation to the river. Then you pay another $12 per person for another pink wristband and once they drop you off at the the top of the river they give you a toob. The $5 option is for people who bring their own tubes for the float.
Here is a picture of Rich and Joy on the bus getting ready to be hardcore Texas floaters.
Ahhh finally on the open water. Okay, maybe I should say on the open river.
Lily and Rich.
Rich and Joy say CHEESE! And they got photo-bombed.
This is Lily’s best sea otter pose.
Me taking a selfie.
The only stop we made along the way was on these rocks. Don’t they look happy?
And just so you can get a sense of what it feels like to float here is how Lily does it!
