This morning my good friend Corey dropped me off in Michigan City, IN where I caught the train to downtown Chicago.
Then from Millennium Station I caught another train headed north to near where my brother and his family live.
Once I arrived Joy picked me up and we headed to their house. Once Rich and Rick got home from work we headed out to dinner at their favorite Mexican restaurant. They have told me before about the famed Pink Margarita and it was as good as they said.
Once we got back to their house Rick drove us to the bait shop so that I could buy a fishing license to legal fish in Illinois.
After heading down to the Fox River and casting my line it only took me about 5 minutes to catch a fish.
A little fish… but it is still a fish!
See… very little but I was still proud.
Once it was starting to get dark we headed back home and sat out on the deck for a few cocktails. Do you like Rich’s lap dog? You might be thinking she is not lap dog size… but Sasha doesn’t care she still thinks she is a lap dog.
The next morning after drinking our coffee we headed back down to the river again. This was my first catch of the day.
But then the fish started getting bigger.
As we were sitting there we could see a storm rolling in. Once we started hearing thunder we packed up our stuff. I stole this picture that day of the storm rolling into the area from a local news site. Crazy looking, huh?
Joy was working from home that day so we went to pick up some Chicago dogs and brought them back to the house for lunch.
Then Rich and I headed to The Volo Auto Museum. If you want to learn more about The Volo Auto Museum you can click here. JP would have loved this place.
This is by far my favorite car at the museum.
I am not sure if I have ever told you guys this before but I am a big fan of museums. I am however not a big fan of walking slowly through them. If you like to slowly comb through a museum I am not the person to go with. Just ask my friend Angela who once said to me “You are the worlds worst person to go to a museum with”. Oh well… you have been warned!
I knew I couldn’t leave Chicago without eating Chicago style pizza so before they dropped me off at the train we at some pie at Georgio’s. Yum, yum & yum!
See how loving my nephew Rick is?
After dinner I got on the train and headed back to the city.
And this is super random but a friend of mine posted this picture on Facebook that day and it made me laugh out loud! I just have to share. Eat them too!
