When we travel we have certain things that we do the same way every time. Things at home we do before we leave and things in Portland that we do before we leave. Since we don’t usually travel back to San Antonio together we also have things that we do for that. Usually if I am getting back to San Antonio before JP we leave the parking lot ticket in the visor and as soon as we park at the airport JP gives me the truck keys. Early this morning after JP dropped me off at the Portland International Airport I was walking to my gate when I realized that I didn’t have the truck keys. I knew right away that they were either in JP’s backpack or sitting on the dresser in Portland and there wasn’t much I could do about it. At that point I knew I was taking a taxi home from the airport.
The good news about today’s travel is that the airplane had wi-fi onboard. If I connect to the wi-fi I can text back and forth with anyone that has an iPhone.
And somehow I even managed to get the exit row window seat.
Even though there was duct tape on the window… really?
It wasn’t until I was sitting in the Denver International Airport on my layover that I realized I wouldn’t be able to get in the house either. Luckily my next door neighbor still had a key that I gave them a couple of years ago.
On the bright side I learned that it costs about $40 to take a taxi from the airport to our house.
