The Night Circus

Has anyone ever asked you what you are reading? I always think that is kind of an awkward question because as soon as you answer they will ask you what it is about. I think it is much easier to have them read the inside cover than to actually tell them what you think the book that you haven’t finished reading yet might be about. I suppose there are exceptions if your not reading fiction. But I think I can honestly say that I have never read a non-fiction book. Ok wait.. sure I have opened up and read out of a cook book but that is about it. A few weeks ago I started reading one of the books that was sent from the Powell’s Book Club that we are in. This book is signed by the author Erin Morgenstern… how cool is that?

When my sister was visiting she asked me what I was reading and I said “The Night Circus”. She of course asked what it was about and my exact words were “It’s about a circus that happens at night”. In my defense at the point that she asked me I was only about 1/2 way through it and I wasn’t sure what it was about… other than the circus, and a girl, and a boy and a challenge. I finished reading the book today and if I were asked the same question I would give the exact same answer.

This is not the type I book I would typically pick up and read but I am glad that I did. I have always thought of myself as more of a mystery/thriller book reader but now I may have to give more fantasy/magical novels a try. I even found a cool trailer for the book on youtube so click HERE.

If you click on the tab above named “I’m Reading” you can see every book I have finished reading since this past July. I always update this tab as soon as I finish a book.

Oh and one more thing. I have a game on my iPhone that I love to play named Angry Birds. I am sure everyone has heard of it and hopefully played it. I saw this picture online today and it cracked me up!

Did you like The Graveyard book?

I didn’t even think of it til just now but that book is kinda similar as far as magical/fantasy goes. It was ok in my opinion, but not great.

I am working my way through The Civil War by Shelby Foote. I have not read a good math book lately. Just finished a book about how dogs think. Can’t wait for the next volume of Mark Twain’s Autobiography. The first volume was big but very entertaining.
