How Did I Get So Random?

I have had a bunch of thoughts running through my head lately so I figured I could share a few with you.

  • I feel very lucky. If you asked me what my favorite part of my life so far has been I would say TODAY. You guys all know that I am a live in the moment kinda person and right now my moments are wonderful. I have great friends, a super cute daughter (who drives me crazy sometimes) and the most amazing boyfriend in the world.
  • I don’t really want anything for Christmas. Any other time I have been asked this question I had an answer… but this year is different. I am unbelievably content with everything in my life right now. Don’t get me wrong… I am NOT going to complain if I get a new purse or some fun kitchen gadgets!
  • I am a grudge holder. As I get older and older it becomes easier to do. I even have a grudge against a few people and I am not even sure why. I was recently asked about someone that I don’t talk to anymore and I seriously couldn’t give them a good answer. I have heard people say that time heals all wounds but I really don’t see this one ever going away.
  • I told JP not to long ago that he makes me feel like the sexiest girl in the world. He looked at me and said “That is because you ARE the sexiest girl in the world”. How do you respond to something like that?
  • I use to be a really messy person. I have changed a lot. I’m not sure if it is because I have gotten more mature or because I have more time on my hands. Me and JP have talked a bunch of times about how much I have changed in the last few years. I like this me better than the old me.
  • Speaking of messy… nothing drives me crazier than people who don’t clean their house if they know they are going to have guests. Sure it is one thing to drop by your friends house and they have some messy going on but it is another when you know you are having guests and you don’t do anything about it. It was the best feeling when not to long ago someone said to me “I don’t know how you keep your house so clean. Every time I come over it looks so great, what is your secret”. I almost told them to never drop by unexpected… ha ha
  • I want a cat. JP says we can’t get one because when we go out of town it will get mad and retaliate. I don’t want to give up my ability to travel frequently for the pleasure of having a cat. Does anyone else have a problem if they leave their cats alone for 3 or 4 days? I mean its not like I would even leave Lily home alone for 5 minutes… maybe he is on to something.
  • I have been on a weight loss system for the last few weeks. I didn’t really want to mention it because it seems kinda personal to talk about… but here I am talking about it. I have lost almost 10 pounds depending on the time of the day. My biggest fear is losing my breast size. I was pretty much flat chested until I got pregnant with Lily 9 years ago.
  • In the last year I have had a few people ask me if I got a boob job. To clear the air… NO I have not gotten a boob job. I am not saying that I never will… I am just saying that I haven’t. I simply figured out how to make them look bigger.
  • I am going on vacation tomorrow. SEATTLE BABY! Lily, JP and I are off on a 5 day adventure! I am hoping that Lily gets to see snow.
  • Children read faces to find emotions. Adults don’t. Maybe if we did the world would be a friendlier place? Think about it… when is the last time you smiled at a kid that didn’t smile back? What about an adult? See what I mean?
  • Now that softball is over until next year I am thinking about signing up a volleyball team through the San Antonio Sports & Social Club. I have an overflowing list of people who want to play. But I have to many players and I don’t know what to say to the people who I am not going to put on my team. I have a couple weeks to figure that one out.
  • I judge people based on how they treat Lily. When she is there ask her questions. Kids like to talk about themselves too.
  • I buy Egglands Best eggs primarily because they stamp the letters EB on every egg. It is kinda like Easter all year long!
  • I worry a little bit every time someone calls me to early in the morning. One of the worst calls I ever got was at like 7:00 in the morning.
  • I have a friend who would help me hide a body, and I would do the same for her.
  • Every once in awhile I will surprise people and do something thoughtful for them.

  • We had starfruit for desert last night (pictured above). I was in the grocery store and bought it without knowing how to serve it. I looked it up online. I think maybe this one wasn’t ripe enough. It kinda tasted like a cross between a green grape and an apple. Weird.
  • I buy to many spaghetti noodles. I have an over stock of them in my pantry yet every time I intend to cook it I seem to buy another bag. Also when I cook them I always have WAY to much or not enough. I suck at estimating how much of it to cook. On a lighter note look at the cool lid that is on my spaghetti storage container. We also have other size containers with the same little dude hanging off the lid in different colors. Kinda fun.

Speaking of kitchen gadgets for Christmas. Someone needs to buy you a spaghetti measurer. I never knew one existed until a wedding shower a couple of months ago. It measures how much pasta per person. Of course, I don’t have one and have the same problem. Here is the link for the measurer.

I have learned to really dread early morning phone calls. They are never good news.

I have a cat and leave him home alone for 2-3 days at a time. Longer if someone will come over and feed, water, pet and clean his poo box. He is pretty okay with that, but I can’t do it too often or he acts out. He does not do anything drastic like peeing on my bed (a co-worker has that problem), just cries and follows me around for a week after I get back. Oh, and if he’s mad at me, he will scratch up my walls and furniture – he has his claws. Some cats are more needy than others. You have to find the right personality for you. :-)
I’m with you on the 7 am calls. Same goes for anything after 11 pm.
I love your comment about how you judge people by how they talk to and treat your kiddo!
