When JP isn’t traveling he works from his office upstairs. I love these times because even though he is working and constantly on conference calls I can still walk upstairs and bug him. When he is in town he usually makes the coffee in the morning but I always bring him his breakfast and lunch on a tray. It is so nice to be able to walk upstairs and say something like “Can I steal you for a second” when I need him to help me move something heavy or get his opinion on something. Like I said he spends A LOT of time in the office during the day. While I know mostly what he does I am not 100% of everything that he does. I do know one thing he does not do in the office… he does not clean it. Up until now I have kinda left it alone because I wasn’t exactly sure how to go about organizing and moving around that stuff. Almost every time I go up there to talk to him I mention that we should clean it up… do something to make it look better. He of course doesn’t have time and always says we will get to it. This is what it looked like this morning when I started. Anyone who has ever walked into this room has says “Wow, you have a lot of computer stuff”.
A couple weeks ago as a joke I hung this sign above the doorway, he he. It made him laugh when he saw it.
And since he is out of town I took the chance to spruce it up a bit. After a couple hours of cleaning, sorting, putting things away, dusting, and vacuuming I was finally done.
I think he will be feel a lot more comfortable in here from now on, but not to comfortable that he doesn’t leave.
The last thing we need to do is find a nice desk and a more ergonomic chair for him to sit in. I have a pretty good idea of what kind of desk we are looking for from previous conversations we have had, and by walking through antique stores with him. Sometime in the near future we will find it and the room will be complete.
