The Piano Man?
Categories: Family, Music, Siblings

Every once in awhile I see a picture that makes me say “WOW”! It happened to me today when I was on facebook. My little brother Pauly’s fiancé Katie posted a picture that I think is awesome.

When I first saw it I could imagine him singing:

“It’s nine o’clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There’s an old man sitting next to me
Makin’ love to his tonic and gin

He says, “Son, can you play me a memory
I’m not really sure how it goes
But it’s sad and it’s sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man’s clothes.”

La la la, di da da
La la, di di da da dum”

But then I decided it was something much happier. I mean don’t they look perfect?

Pauly and Katie are getting married in August and I totally can’t imagine a better fit for either of them. They are cute, fun and totally in love.

I guess I only have two questions left.

#1 – Is the picture better in color or in black and white?

#2- Can Pauly play the piano? If so what was he really playing?

I like the color one better because the colors in the picture really pop. I don’t think Paul can actually play the piano, did any us stick with piano lessons for long?! Have no idea what song but it looks happy.

When I first saw this picture I thought about the SNL skit with Will Ferral & Anna Gasteyer. The Culps which wikipedia describe as “Marty and Bobbi were an awkward, unstylish, married couple who served as music teachers at Altadena Middle School. In the sketches, they would perform prim, conservative medleys of modern pop, R&B or rap songs at various school functions, much to the embarrassment of their unseen son who attended the school.” Good stuff.
