For the love of goldfish, part deux
Categories: Nature, Seafood, Sunny, Water, Wildlife

Back in April I did a posting about our pet goldfish. Since then I have learned that the reason algae grows in water fountains is because of the direct sunlight. Today it was time to clean the fountain… here is a before picture. Can you believe there are fish living in that water!

That is some nasty water! If you recall when we first bought the fish we had fish named One through Sixteen and Silvia.

After Lily and I cleaned the fountain and counted all of the fish we put back we found out we now have One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen and Silvia.

We are only aware of one death that occurred about a week ago, it was a suicide jumper… but now I seriously wonder where the other two went?

Do you think they know that we cleaned the fountain? If so do you think they like it?

In Barrington people loose their expensive gold fish (koi) to blue herons. Ponds are like Old Country Buffet to herons. Maybe you have birds eating your gold fish?
